LACUNA COIL: Italian Club Shows Canceled
May 9, 2009Due to "scheduling conflicts," Italian rock/metal act LACUNA COIL has cancelled its previously announced club shows in the band's home country:
Jun. 22 - Pinarella Di Cervia (RA)
Jun. 23 - Roncade (TV)
The group says, "We apologize [to] our fans and we'll be back soon!"
LACUNA COIL's new album, "Shallow Life", has registered the following first-week chart positions:
France: #46
Germany: #52
Italy: #25
Spain: #95
Switzerland: #64
The Netherlands: #76
U.K. (Rock Albums): #2
U.K.: #42
USA: #16
"Shallow Life" sold 21,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release.
LACUNA COIL's previous CD, "Karmacode", opened with just under 34,000 copies back in April 2006 to land at No. 28. It has since sold more than 200,000 units in the U.S.
The band's 2002 album, "Comalies", has shifted more than 300,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
"Shallow Life" was released in the U.S. on April 21 via Century Media Records. The CD was recorded in September/October at NRG Studios in North Hollywood, California with producer Don Gilmore, who has previously worked with LINKIN PARK, TRAPT, AVRIL LAVIGNE, GOOD CHARLOTTE, THE VERONICAS, PEARL JAM, TRUST COMPANY and DURAN DURAN.
